What Reddit Says About Weather Farming Apps

Accuweather and the weather channel for their radar, wunderground for accuracy.

I have used several apps but mainly use darksky.net because it tell me the wind gusts, dew point, humidity, and rain and ice seen it to be the most accurate. Plus it gives me weather from a specific address.

I’m hoping to go to Kings Island July 10 and I looked at a few weather apps, the default IOS weather app, weather channel, and accuweather. IOS weather just said cloudy, weather channel said 50% chance of rain, accuweather says 25% chance of rain. All weather apps and sites are different.

These companies have spent a fortune getting weather figured out. If you just need an app. Then I recommend weatherline for Apple, it averages data from different apps and puts it all in one place.

Hey! So this is common from a Canadian farmer who heavily relies on weather to get stuff done. I use AccuWeather because their radars are very spot-on, and they have actually good weather predictions.

I was bored last night so I created a python script to give me the best conditions to spray. I downloaded the csv data for the 7 day forecast from merrysky and just overlayed the plots and put an upper and lower bound for each plot. I didn't get very many sweet spots, so I had to put in fudge ....

Another Weather Underground vote. The 10 day line graph forecast is the only forecast I trust and the best way for me to visualize what’s happening. ... Yeah, on Android I always used a basic app that just graphed the data from NOAA and it was usually spot on.

Again, there are software packages out there for farmers that do all this for you. I have no idea how expensive they are or how they operate, but it’s probably not cheap. Yeah I ended up finding it. It sucks that you have to pay for it, I prefer it over GFS. ... If you have an iPhone, check out Weathercaster . The chart format is better than all the other weather apps imo.
