What Reddit Says About Mastering Apps

RipX DAW is a very impressive app that allow you to stem, clean and enhance your songs quite easily (with a learning curve, you can find video tutorials about it). Then, for mastering, there's Bandlab that offers few mastering options for free.

You can do the same thing in a 'normal' DAW depending on how much metadata it will edit and how. You can also do the metadata afterward in a tagger app. So it's certainly not necessary to use a dedicated app; they're just better suited to a mastering studio.

Softube has Drawmer, which I've tried and its meh. Surprisingly IK has one called One that I've found pretty useful, but there are plenty others. I usually just put a tape emulation, then One, then a maximizer/limiter.

You can also take a good piece of mixed music into a powerful app, mess with mastering tools, and screw it up too. So if you're not comfortable doing this, even if you have the tools, then something like BandLabs may be worth it.
