Excel probably has something similar and you can make separate page for each period. Once you set up one page you can literally paste and copy the set up to the other periods. For the missing assignments I would probably have 2 columns for each day.

I would also like the ability to mark off when I submit the homework and for it to remind me x hours before the due date if I didn't summit the homework. I don't mind ads in the app but I would prefer not to pay.
