After it's done recording go to edit, shift drag to lower frame delay from that 1 fps to .1. Save as 256 colors. I ended up with around 200 frames condensed into 20 seconds under 2 mb. Also had to increase ram usage to 2GB. Gifcam is the best gif software I have used yet.

Gifski. The best. Excelent quality and file size. And it's FREE. Before converting, I recommend exporting your video in QuickTime format and use " Apple ProRes 4444 with Alpha" (if you work with Mac).

I feel it. ezgif keeps making a persons lips blue, only his lips, so annoying but can't believe there are no good alternatives ... GIMP is more of a full-blown image editor, which is nice, but has its drawbacks. Apart from learning curve, it's not optimized for quick gif editing/conversion...
