If the place where you take your dog for daily activities has good cellular signal coverage, I believe this GPS dog tracker that works based on the cellular network is a better choice.

I recommend the Dogtra mini Pathfinder 2 because you can set a geofence so the dog is unable to leave a certain boundary that you determine- such as a road. You can see your dog in real time if it runs off.

Loved Whistle but NOT the replacement Tractive. Very hard to setup. Bad clunky design too. Prefer Trackie on Amazon, the small one. Live, excellent phone support, very well priced! And .. very accurate, great app, easy and detailed! I even use it on my cats! Great battery life plus safe wifi zones.
