Personally I only used pattern keeper and cannot stitch without it anymore. Only heard good thing about saga as well. Pattern keeper has a trial of one month, should try it if you are interested.

Crossstitch saga is by far the most heavy app in terms of backstitch/beads/specialty stitch compatibility but it has to be in particular formats, (saga xsd etc) not pdf so it’s currently a bit more limited in use, but I hope more designers start offering it, because it’s amazing.
