Want to add that it has a lists feature where you can make a wish list or even make a list of beers in your cellar which is what I use. Has handy data fields like bottle date, number of bottles which are a sortable query ... Untappd is pretty much the only option, just be wary of rating. Almost no P...

Untappd for sure. The avg ratings are usually a decent metric although they tend to swing between 3.5 and 4.5. also some beers on there will get rated by people who don't understand a style or give a sour a 0.25 because it was sour.

One approach would be to just see the highest rated beers on Untappd and sort by whatever time interval you want. Granted, Untappd is controversial and the scores need to be taken with a grain of salt, but will at least show what a large portion ...

BrewFather is the way to go. There's really no competition besides maybe BeerSmith, but their app sucks compared to the web version.

Absolutely LOVE Brewfather. I’ve honestly been able to hit my numbers with it as well as BeerSmith which was a pleasant surprise. Love the interface and the web-based phone app (I.e., saving a short cut to your home screen).

I am not a huge fan of subscription software. I did not feel like the UI for the web application ones I tried worked as well on my phone as a native app. Overall the BeerSmith flow and their mash and equipment profile model fits me well.

I like Brewfather personally. Nothing will be easy at first but my understanding of it seemed to grow at about the same pace as my recipe building did. And once I got into water chemistry, it made more sense to me on Brewfather than on Beersmith which is my second choice

Untappd is the standard. BeerAdvocate is nice for brief reviews and to get an idea of what "could be good". Personally, BeerAdvocate's ratings are pretty inflated, with hop heads rating beers way more than they are.

I started exploring more and more breweries outwith the ones in Glasgow and my brother recommended the app Pints Please to record what beers I was having so I could note down what each one tasted like and if I liked it.

My thought here is: Untappd the beer app already is the number one app for rating craft beer and Beer Advocate is the most professional beer rating I’ve seen yet and there both huge companies.

I had BeerSmith for a couple years, then switched to BrewFather which I've been running for the past couple years. They have pretty similar features, and both are very capable and reasonably priced. However, BeerSmith feels like a Windows 98 program and Brewfather feels like a 2020s app, and wo...

Seems like the overall favorites are Brewfather (for UI, cloud features) and Beersmith for advanced uses. I'll make sure to check out both! For people arriving from Google: These are the options mentioned: ... Brewfather all the way.

I've used beersmith, brewers friend, and brewfather. I prefer brewfather because it is easy to use, does everything well, has settings to adjust it to exactly my brewing style, has a great interface, and a solid mobile app.

That said, 1) there will be lots of obscure beers that don't get expert reviewed but equally few people will drink them, it can work for the most popular beers 2) you could code it so it's grayed out if there's no expert review. Maybe you'd build in some sort of verified "ex...

All the bars in my area use Beer Menus, and they have a great app. ... BreweryMap. Perfect for travelers. It's a paid app, but for the price, it's worth it to support the developers.
